One of the most anticipated upcoming superhero movies is easily The Batman 2, the follow-up to Matt Reeves's critically acclaimed 2022 movie starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.
But, there is also another Batman movie in the works – one that will be part of the DCU rather than an Elseworlds project like Reeves'. That movie is titled The Brave and the Bold, and it was unveiled as part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters announcement. Since then, though, news on the project has been scarce.
James Gunn Shares THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Update And Says Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN 2 Script Is "Great"
Superman's press tour is winding down after last night's splashy premiere, leaving filmmaker James Gunn free to continue developing the DCU.
While all eyes will be on the Man of Steel this week, DC fans are understandably eager to see Batman back on the big screen. Unfortunately, neither The Batman Part II (an Elseworlds movie) nor The Brave and the Bold are taking shape overly quickly.
Gunn has been pestered about the status of The Batman sequel since first becoming DC Studios co-CEO. Fortunately, last week saw filmmaker Matt Reeves confirm that his and Mattson Tomlin's script is complete (whether it's a first draft or ready to be shot isn't clear).

James Gunn Confirms Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman II’ Script Is Finished: “It’s Great”
As the Man of Steel takes to the sky in James Gunn‘s DCU debut, Matt Reeves‘ The Batman is ready to emerge from the shadows.
On the red carpet of Monday’s Superman world premiere, the writer and director kept it brief as he confirmed to reporters that he’s read Reeves’ long-anticipated script for The Batman Part II.
“It’s great,” said Gunn after Reeves shared a photo of the completed script’s cover page last month, donning the Batman symbol.
The DC Studios boss previously told fans to “get off Matt’s nuts” about the sequel to his 2022 take on the Dark Knight.
