The Playbook: Lineup locks, Shadow Reports for Week 7
Welcome to The Playbook for Week 7, which kicks off Thursday with the Steelers at the Bengals.
This column features score projections, over/unders, win probabilities, and, of course, easily digestible fantasy advice for seasonlong leagues and DFS. This guide should help you with all sorts of decision-making, including start/sit, last-minute waiver adds and lineup choices.
Additionally, we have folded the Shadow Reports, previously a separate column, into the game-by-game breakdowns here. Using our play-by-play data, we're able to identify defensive schemes and where each wide receiver and cornerback lines up on each play. By tracking these WR/CB matchups, including potential shadow situations, we can offer the best projections, rankings, start/sit advice and waiver wire suggestions each week.
NFL Fantasy 2025 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Running backs for Week 7
You have lineup questions, we have lineup answers — at least we hope so. Start 'Em, Sit 'Em is here to help fantasy managers make difficult roster decisions. And you know what is a good move? Starting Justin Jefferson. But that's too obvious, so you won't see such simple analysis here. Instead, we're exploring more debatable situations. And if you can't find a player you are looking for, please check out the latest NFL Fantasy lineup rankings.
NOTE: Unless otherwise indicated, all stats come from NFL Pro, Next Gen Stats or NFL Research.
I'm taking a victory lapping here! Way back in July, I wrote a "Top 10 RB values" piece, and had Skattebo in there, saying he'd steal the job from Tyrone Tracy Jr. The rookie has done just that! Skattebo is a rock-solid RB2 who can finish any week as an RB1 due to the usage he has been seeing. He has played over 70 percent of the snaps during the last three weeks, receiving more than 20 opportunities (carries + targets) in each those games. In the last four contests for New York, he has seen 19 and 25 carries in the wins and seven and eight targets in the losses. Since Week 2, he ranks third in the NFL in red-zone carries, and only Jonathan Taylor has more goal-line carries in that span. Denver's defense has been tough, but there's no way you can get away from the Skat man right now.

Fantasy Football Week 7 Start 'Em & Sit 'Em: Jaylen Warren a week winner, plus sleepers at every position
I'm curious to see some of the receivers who will be used in Fantasy lineups in Week 7, especially in deeper formats. While CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and Mike Evans (hamstring) might return to action after extended absences — and Rashee Rice is back now that his six-game suspension is over — we're still dealing with several ailments at the position.
The new injuries for Week 7 include Puka Nacua (ankle), Garrett Wilson (knee), Marvin Harrison Jr. (concussion), Emeka Egbuka (hamstring), D.J. Moore (groin), Josh Downs (concussion) and Calvin Ridley (hamstring). And we're still monitoring other injuries to players who have been out recently, including Terry McLaurin (quadriceps), Quentin Johnston (hamstring), Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ribs).
