Police investigating after suspicious package found at Austin's airport
AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are investigating after a suspicious item was found at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) on Thursday.
According to officials with ABIA, the suspicious item was found in the Barbara Jordan Terminal, and that passengers are being removed from the area of the affected terminal as a precaution.
There is no impact to flights at ABIA at this time, but officials advise that traffic congestion and delays in the terminal area should be expected.
ABIA is anticipating several high-volume travel days coming up, with the second weekend of the 2025 ACL Music Festival set to kick off on Friday.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Monday after Formula One is expected to be the Austin airport's busiest day in 2025, officials said. However, it remains unclear whether the day will break the airport's all-time record set last year.
"The Monday after F1 will be our busiest day this year but it’s too soon to know if it will break a record for busiest day ever or will it remain just under last year’s record breaking 44,043 departing passengers," an airport spokesperson told CBS Austin.
