Chiefs sign WR Andrew Armstrong to the 53-man roster; will elevate RB Jadyn Ott for Sunday
A Kansas City wideout received a promotion on Friday while running back depth became a question mark.
In the midst of wide receiver injuries, the Kansas City Chiefs elevated Andrew Armstrong from the practice squad for Week 6’s contest against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Armstrong, a 2025 Miami Dolphins undrafted signing out of Arkansas, caught one pass for 13 yards in his NFL debut. Armstrong finished the game with 42 offensive snaps played (while on the field for nine more plays on special teams).
With starting wideout Rashee Rice set to miss his second consecutive game due to a hamstring, it was widely expected that Armstrong would again get the nod against the Seattle Seahawks on “Sunday Night Football.”
Chiefs Sign Promising WR to Active Roster Amid Rashee Rice’s Injury Concerns
The Kansas City Chiefs will be without wide receiver Rashee Rice yet again this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks, as he continues battling injuries to his hamstring and knee. However, the team is replacing him on the active roster with a promising fan favorite from the preseason.
Wideout Andrew Armstrong has elevated from the practice squad and into the 53-man group as of Friday, October 23, meaning he will make his second appearance for the Chiefs this regular season.
RB Nate Carter takes Armstrong’s slot on the practice squad. He was dropped for the addition of LB Aiden Fisher earlier this week, but now he’s back.
