NFL insider hints that yet another Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back could be on the move ahead of the NFL trade deadline
The Pittsburgh Steelers have already shipped out one defensive back, and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler is wondering whether another could follow. A comment from DC Patrick Graham and a closer look at a contract give the idea some real weight.
Well, we know the Pittsburgh Steelers already traded away one of their defensive backs, and ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler is hinting that Jalen Ramsey could be next. With the Steelers’ secondary still searching for answers, a Ramsey trade is no longer as far-fetched as it may have sounded a few weeks ago. Fowler floated the Detroit Lions as a potential suitor.
Steelers need to bite the bullet sooner rather than later on Jalen Ramsey mistake
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has quickly fallen on hard times as of late. Despite being a veteran-heavy squad with a lot of star names, this group has been inconsistent all season and, for the most part, a very average unit.
Once such name that needs to be under a lot of scrutiny is Jalen Ramsey.
Once a superstar cornerback, Ramsey came to the Steelers with his athleticism declining. His time as a starting cornerback ended last year as Pittsburgh began using him in a variety of alignments, more specifically in the slot and at safety.
Heading into year two, the hope was that Ramsey could settle in as a safety/slot cornerback and return to form as a dynamic defender. Through four games, that hasn’t been the case, and it is costing the Steelers greatly.
