ATLANTA – Aaron Nola, the Phillies’ longest-tenured player, will make one of the biggest starts of his 12-year career Thursday night when he faces the Atlanta Braves in a do-or-die Game 3 of the National League Wild Card Series at Truist Park.
The Braves will counter with an opener, lefty Ray Kerr. The Phillies’ No. 2 and 3 hitters, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, are both left-handed hitters. Schwarber and Harper hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning of Game 2 Wednesday against lefty Dylan Lee as the Phillies rallied from a 3-1 deficit and ultimately saved their season with a 4-3 win on the strength of Alec Bohm’s homer in the 10th.
