AUSTIN, Texas – Wrapping up September but the changing weather is just beginning.
The table is set for multiple rounds of downpours and storms the next few days.
The tropical moisture is in place and a low pressure system and front will collide into the moisture to help turn on the rain.
The slow-moving front will be the focal point for storm development and the lift from upper will keep the storms going strong.
Most of Central Texas is under a FLOOD WATCH from this evening to Friday evening.

DALLAS – A multi-day stretch of wet, stormy weather is heading toward North Texas, bringing rising flood concerns and relief from unseasonable heat ahead of a weekend cold front.
FOX 4 Weather Chief Meteorologist Dan Henry talks about the timing for storms that will hit the Metroplex overnight and early Thursday morning.
While Wednesday morning is starting out quiet, warm, and windy, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop by the afternoon, particularly along and west of Interstate 35W.
Areas west of the metroplex are under a marginal risk for severe weather — a level 1 out of 5 — with the primary threats being gusty winds up to 60 mph and small hail smaller than quarters. The tornado threat remains very low.
