NBA could soon pick winning Las Vegas expansion team bidder: report
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The NBA could soon select an ownership group to win the bidding for a Las Vegas expansion team, according to a new report.
Three finalist groups remain, ESPN reported Tuesday: Nancy Walton Laurie and Bill Laurie; Steve Apostolopoulos and Marc Lasry; and Bill Foley and Jerry Colangelo.
A decision could be made in the near future, with a winning bid worth $12-13 billion, per the outlet.
Foley owns the Vegas Golden Knights, while Colangelo previously owned the NBA's Phoenix Suns. They announced separate bids earlier this year, but according to ESPN, they agreed to join forces because of Foley's ties to the city and Colangelo's financial relationships.
