The "Oxford Blues" star, 62, reflected on his own cringe-worthy moment on the Oscars stage back in 1989, in which he performed a musical number featuring Snow White for the opening ceremony, calling it "the worst opening ever" in a Sept. 24 appearance on podcast show "Andy Cohen Live."
"When Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, I was the only person happy," Lowe said. "Because I was like, ‘Oh, good. So now that’s the worst moment in Oscar history.'"
Lowe added: "But it turns out not really. Turns out I still am dragged, dragged every year."

Rob Lowe was the “only person” in the world who was “happy” when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022 ― for good reason.
“I’m not sure if you’re aware, but I once did a song and dance musical number for the Oscars that did not go over well,” Lowe said during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live” this week.
“The worst opening in Oscar history,” Cohen said of the actor’s poorly executed 1989 show kickoff, where he confusingly sang “Proud Mary” alongside Snow White and a host of Disney characters.

“When Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, I was the only person happy. Because I was like, ‘Oh, good. So now that’s the worst moment in Oscar history,’” the actor confessed on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live Thursday.
“But it turns out not really. Turns out I still am dragged, dragged every year.”
Lowe continued, “This year even, I guess some people didn’t love some of the Emmys and they were like, ‘At least it wasn’t Rob.’ It’s like, guys, there should be a statute of limitations.”
