In what could be Kyle Freeland’s final start at Coors Field as a Rockie, he wasn’t very sharp. He gave up a lead-off single to Ildemaro Vargas, but then got Rockies-killer Ketel Marte to pop out to short. Following that, Gabriel Moreno doubled to score Vargas, and Geraldo Perdomo singled to score Moreno and put the Diamondbacks up 2-0. Nolan Arenado singled to reach base for the 11th time in 11 games against the Rockies this year, but then Freeland was able to strike out Jordan Lawlar. Other Rockies-killer Corbin Carroll added another run on another double before Tim Tawa walked to load the bases. However, Jose Fernandez grounded out to end the inning.
