PEYTON MANNING, ELI MANNING
Last year, ESPN named Artie Kempner its new “Monday Night Football” director. By all accounts, it may be one of the smartest moves ESPN has made relative to its “MNF” presentation. A 12-time Emmy winner, Kempner worked with lead announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman at Fox for many years. His addition is a concession that, for as much work as ESPN had done to improve its production, “MNF” still needed some fine-tuning.
Monday Night Football schedule: Is there a 'ManningCast' tonight?
Peyton Manning and Eli Manning have returned for a sixth season of the ManningCast, their popular alternate broadcast of Monday Night Football that airs on ESPN2 and the ESPN App for select MNF matchups each fall.
The 2026 ManningCast slate continues tonight with the Los Angeles Rams (-7) hosting the New York Giants (+7).
To promote the 2026 schedule of 12 ManningCast broadcasts, Peyton and Eli recruited an all-star cast of more than 40 athletes and celebrities for their "ManningCast: Heist" campaign this offseason.
In the 16-minute video, with appearances from Anne Hathaway, Paul Rudd, Larry David, John Hamm, Glenn Powell, Serena Williams, Rob Gronkowski, Marshawn Lynch, Travis Kelce (and more), the Mannings broke into NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's office to change the ManningCast schedule (watch the video here).

ManningCast slumps to 705,000 viewers
Few TV shows have a more dramatic disconnect between industry and viewer response than the ManningCast. The Peyton and Eli Show, an alternate Monday Night Football broadcast that will be televised 11 times during the regular season and the Super Bowl, continues to draw rave reviews from the critics — while not moving the needle that truly matters.
On Monday night, for example, only 705,000 of the 23.2 million viewers who watched the Broncos-Chiefs game were tuned in to ESPN2 for the combination football broadcast/talk show, via Andrew Marchand of The Athletic.
This year, the stakes become even higher, given that ESPN reportedly plans to have a Pat McAfee alternate broadcast on ESPN2 during the weeks that the Mannings don’t do their show. What if the McAfee show outperforms the ManningCast?
