A video released by Trabzonspor after the signing of star soccer player Muhammed Salah is drawing attention not only to the clubâs latest acquisition but also to the traditional cuisine of the Black Sea city.
The video announcing Salahâs transfer quickly became one of the clubâs most-liked social media posts. It shows the Egyptian star visiting a local family and sharing a meal featuring kuymak, collard-green rolls, cornbread, butter and kaygana, traditional dishes associated with Trabzon and the surrounding region.
Emre Murat, president of the Trabzon Gastronomy Association, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the video has helped promote the regionâs food culture beyond its sporting significance.
