Inspection report reveals several violations at daycare where girl was left on bus for hours before death
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – An inspection of Kid University in Cordova reveals new details about the death of a non-verbal six-year-old girl last week.
The Tennessee Department of Human Services performed a “Fatality Visit” at the daycare Friday morning to check for policy and procedure violations after Winter Jones’ death the day before.
Family members say Jones was left on a hot bus in the daycare’s parking lot Thursday afternoon. She was in medical distress by the time she was discovered.
Jones was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but did not survive.
Tennessee daycares are required by law to use monitoring devices in transport vehicles, perform bus checks and maintain daily logs of those checks.
