Twins’ offensive struggles overshadow debut of new starter Dean Kremer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — They added a bunch of pitching over the last month, but perhaps the Minnesota Twins also needed a bat. At the very least, the Twins needed to discover a way to get to Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Noah Cameron.
They did neither since the last time they faced Cameron, a week ago, and he carved them up once again Wednesday night.
For the fourth time this season, Cameron, who’s been a poor pitcher otherwise, had the Twins’ number. He limited the Twins to a run and two hits over eight innings, and Kansas City’s offense did enough for a 2-1 victory at Kauffman Stadium.

Cameron tossed eight innings of one-run ball in the Royals’ 2-1 win over the Twins on Wednesday night, allowing just two hits, matching his career high in innings that he set last week against this same Twins team and matching his career high in strikeouts (nine) that he set on July 11 against the Orioles.
It marked back-to-back starts of eight innings for Cameron and just one earned run in his last 23 innings since July 24. And it capped a particularly dominant run against the Twins this season in which Cameron allowed two earned runs in 27 innings in his four starts against them.

Cameron outduels Kremer for a Royals win
Noah Cameron continued his recent run of success and decided to dominate the Twins for a second start in a row. That allowed the Royals to win 2-1 despite having some struggles at the plate of their own.
We had a good old-fashioned pitcher’s duel between maybe not the most likely of starters. Both Noah Cameron and Dean Kremer were very effective. Kremer saw the minimum through three innings thanks to a double play and Noah only saw one over in that time frame thanks to a single from Ryan Jeffers in the first inning. It was Kremer’s debut as a Minnesota Twin after he was acquired at the trade deadline. He availed himself well, matching his best start of the season back at the beginning of July by going 6 innings and only giving up 1 run.
