Wildfire smoke prompts air quality advisory for Portland metro, multiple Oregon counties
PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – An air quality advisory has been issued for much of Oregon due to wildfire smoke.
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) issued the advisory Monday for the Portland metro area, as well as Baker, eastern Clackamas, Crook, Deschutes, Harney, Jefferson, northern Klamath, northern Lake, Malheur, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and southern Wasco counties.
Intermittent smoke is also expected in the Vancouver area, as well as Gilliam, Grant, Hood River, southern Klamath, Lane, Linn, Marion, Morrow, Sherman, northern Wasco, and Wheeler counties, according to DEQ.
Due to forecasted heat and wildfire smoke levels, Multnomah County health officials have issued a mandatory wood-burning restrictions effective Monday at 12 p.m.
