Chelsea owners BlueCo reach agreement to sign Julio Enciso from Brighton – The Athletic
BlueCo — the group that owns Chelsea and Strasbourg — has reached an agreement to sign midfielder Julio Enciso from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Enciso spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town and has chosen to join the BlueCo project for his next step.
Personal terms for the 21-year-old Paraguay international are in place with the consortium.
The sides have a healthy relationship after a conducting a significant amount of business since BlueCo completed its takeover of Chelsea in the summer of 2022 and then Strasbourg a year later.
Enciso is expected to initially spend time at the French club but is viewed as a long-term Chelsea player.
Strasbourg reignite interest in Brighton’s Julio Enciso
RC Strasbourg Alsace showed an interest in Brighton and Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso (21) back in January. Although they failed to get a deal done then, the Ligue 1 side have reignited their interest, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Strasbourg discussed a move for the Paraguay international earlier this year, however, he ultimately joined Ipswich Town on loan. His two goals and three assists in 13 Premier League matches were not enough to keep the club in the top-flight, and he has since returned to parent club Brighton.
Enciso has just one year remaining on his deal with the Seagulls, and it is within this context that Strasbourg are considering revisiting a deal. Whilst RCSA have led a mass-recruitment campaign, they may yet lose Dilane Bakwa and are preparing for this eventuality.
