MIMS, Fla. – Southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were shut down in Brevard County Tuesday morning following a serious crash.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision involved a semi tractor-trailer and a Ford F-450 pickup truck towing a trailer loaded with gravel. The driver of the Ford F-450 was entrapped in the vehicle following the crash. Rescue crews freed the driver, who was then transported by helicopter to a hospital with serious injuries.
Lanes were shut down but have since reopened. The crash remains under investigation.

Crash shuts down stretch of I-95 south in Brevard County, FHP says
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – An early morning crash shut down a section of Interstate 95 southbound in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on I-95 near the exit for State Road 46 in the Mims area.
The highway has since reopened, and the FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
