G2 Takes Game 1 Against T1 with 'Double ADC' Strategy

On the 8th, the second round of the lower bracket in the '2026 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI)' bracket stage took place at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) Exhibition Center II in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, featuring a match between T1 and G2 Esports. In the first game, G2 Esports secured a victory by demonstrating the power of their 'double ADC' composition in the late game.

In the first game, both teams traded kills and maintained a delicate balance until G2 Esports pulled ahead by winning a skirmish over Void Grubs. They successfully targeted 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok's Cassiopeia, who lacked Flash. T1 attempted to counter by sending 'Keria' Ryu Min-seok's Camille to catch 'Broken Blade's' Vayne, but because Camille had not yet learned her ultimate skill, the play dragged on, resulting in both T1 players being caught without securing a kill. G2 Esports maintained their momentum by taking down 'Doran' Choi Hyun-joon's Renekton shortly after.

MSI 2026 Match Preview T1 Versus FURIA: T1 Taking the Dangerous Path

After advancing through the MSI Play-In Stage, T1 lost their first series to Bilibili Gaming. T1 is no stranger to the Lower Bracket. They always play there at MSI. However, they rarely drop this early. Their next opponent should be a comfortable victory. FURIA showed good signs in their first series, but they could not close out games. That will be a problem up against the LCK second seed.

FURIA may have lost the series 3-0 to LYON, but they had chances to win. They were ahead in the first and second games. With fewer mistakes, they could have been in the Upper Bracket, with an additional life. For T1, they lost most of their games during the draft. They gave themselves hard-to-execute drafts, and it hampered their chances in a 3-2 loss to Bilibili Gaming.

MSI 2026 Preview – T1 vs G2 Esports: A Heavyweight Will Fall Early

As early as Round 2 of the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational, either T1 or G2 Esports will already be heading home. On July 8 at 10 AM CET / 1 AM PST, the two teams will clash in a lower bracket showdown after being sent there by Bilibili Gaming and Hanwha Life Esports, respectively.

So far at the tournament, T1 suffered a hard-fought 3-2 defeat to a red-hot BLG in a fiercely contested best-of-five between the two giants, before comfortably sweeping FURIA 3-0 in the lower bracket. G2, meanwhile, experienced the opposite path.

They first secured an upper bracket victory with a reverse sweep over Top Esports, showing tremendous resilience, before running into HLE and a Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo at the peak of his powers, who led his team to a clean 3-0 sweep.
