One of the beautiful things about the College World Series: Some teams seem destined to find their way back to each other.
After North Carolina sent West Virginia to the loser's bracket on Day 3 in Omaha, the Mountaineers defeated Troy to make it to the national semifinals. Now they need two wins over a North Carolina team that has outlasted its opponents to go 2-0 to date in order to make the championship series in their first CWS appearance.
North Carolina has played a very similar game twice thus far in its return to Omaha, with it remaining close before breaking it open late in the game. With that in mind, West Virginia may try to jump on Tar Heels pitching early in order to combat a team that has made a living with long, patient trips to the plate.

Tar Heels on cusp of reaching CWS championship series
UNC baseball is in about as good a position as you can ask for after going 2-0 to start the College World Series in Omaha.
But despite being one win from the championship series, coach Scott Forbes isn't having any of that talk. Forbes was the pitching coach on the 2006 UNC team that reached the CWS final and was quick to downplay any discussion of the championship series on Tuesday.
"That's exactly what we're not saying," Forbes told reporters. "Obviously, a lot of people are going to say that. I just told them I've been in that position in 2006, and I learned a lot from it. We're not going to count out and we're not going to listen to the noise. We're just going to focus on what we've been doing all year."
