Thunderstorms will return to Nebraska Saturday, with two separate rounds of activity that could bring strong winds, heavy rain and hail to parts of the state. However, western Nebraska will largely stay dry.
An initial round of thunderstorms is expected to develop across eastern Nebraska overnight into early Saturday morning as a weak cold front moves into an area of returning moisture. While most of these storms will be isolated, there is a marginal risk for severe weather, with large hail being the primary concern. The atmospheric setup shows strong instability with plenty of moisture, creating conditions favorable for storm development during this overnight window.
