2026 World Cup international friendlies: Who plays today, Sunday, May 31?
As this summer’s tournament approaches, several World Cup teams are in action in international friendlies today.
With PSG’s triumph over Arsenal in Saturday’s Champions League final, the domestic season is now officially over and the focus is fully on the upcoming World Cup in North America.
Warm-up matches are already underway as the 48 participating national teams continue their preparations for the tournament.
Today, eight World Cup participants are in action throughout the day – including co-hosts the United States, who face Senegal in their penultimate tournament tuneup.
Held in Canada, Mexico and the U.S., the 2026 World Cup begins on June 11. In the tournament’s opening games, the Mexicans host South Africa at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET.
