Fast-growing fire threatening structures near Mirror Lake Highway in Summit County
KAMAS — Campers are being evacuated as a fast-growing fire is threatening structures on Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest land east of Mirror Lake Highway in a remote section of Summit County, state land managers say.
The Beulah Fire has quickly burned 300 to 400 acres, state and federal firefighters reported shortly after 1:30 p.m. The fire had already scorched approximately 15 acres by the time the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands first reported the fire shortly after noon.
The fire started about 3 to 4 miles east of Manorlands, a community near Kamas and Mount Beulah within the High Uintas Wilderness, according to the division. It wasn't immediately clear what kind of structures were being threatened or how many were being threatened.
Fast-growing wildfire forces evacuations in east Summit County
EVANSTON, Wyoming (KUTV) — A fire ignited in northeastern Utah near the Wyoming border, forcing the evacuation of campers in the area.
The Beulah Fire, which ignited east of Mirror Lake Highway on Thursday, has burned an estimated 300 to 400 acres three to four miles east of Manorlands. Utah Fire Info officials said the wildfire "continues to grow" and nearby structures are threatened.
The fire is located on U.S. Forest Service land within the Wilderness area.
A Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter was requested to assist with evacuations of campers in the vicinity.
"Please avoid the area and allow emergency crews to work safely," Utah Fire Info said.

Updated at 2:37 p.m. – Summit County officials report the fire is burning 3-4 miles east of Mirror Lake Hwy / Manor Lands. Evacuations are in place for Bear River & Mill Creek (a tributary of E. Fork Bear River—NOT Millcreek Canyon in SLC).
A DPS helicopter has been requested to assist with evacuations of campers in the vicinity. Stay clear of the area per Summit County.
Updated at 1:37 p.m. – According to official radio correspondence, the Beulah Fire has now grown to between 300 and 400 acres and additional search and rescue resources have been requested for evacuations in the area.
