Englewood company STOMP Athletics pitching its products on 'Shark Tank'
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. â Englewood-based STOMP Athletics is preparing to pitch its shoe traction products on âShark Tank.â
In the game of basketball, traction is everything. STOMP Athletics Founder and CEO David Gonzales knew there had to be a better way to maintain grip on the court.
âI prided myself on being an ultra-competitive defender,â Gonzales said. âI was sliding around like crazy. I was the guy that wiped my shoes with my hands. Sometimes, Iâd like my fingers. Itâs just disgusting.â
Gonzales created his first product sketches in 2007, and held on to them for years, before creating STOMP Athletics in 2021. The company creates products, including floor mats and âshoe armorâ that sits right on top of a playerâs shoes, to remove dirt and restore grip.

In the 17th episode of season 17, bold and ambitious entrepreneurs presented a variety of products, including HiberTec Homes, which offers wildfire-proof homes, Stomp Athletics, which sells traction mats and shoe armors for athletes, Crowned Skin, which deals with cologne-infused body butter, and PowerSoul Cafe, which is an allergy-free café.
After six years of research and engineering, HiberTec Homes has developed a technology that could help protect one’s home against unexpected wildfires and tornadoes. It works by getting the homes automatically descend underground into its protective vault through a smartphone app in about 15 minutes or less. Once the threat has passed, the property is returned to ground level unscathed. Since the entire process is patented, HiberTec Homes owns the entire process.
