Candace Parker calls Hall of Fame enshrinement 'truly special'

PHOENIX — Candace Parker looked up to Chamique Holdsclaw and the 1996 U.S. Olympic women's basketball team growing up.
Now she and Elena Delle Donne will get to be enshrined with them in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame later this year.
"I am so happy for Chamique, and I am so happy that she is getting her flowers. She deserves them," Parker told The Associated Press. "Obviously, Elena Della Donne and I grew up battling against one another and the '96 team, I think we were all inspired by that. So I just think it's, it's truly special."

INDIANAPOLIS (April 4, 2026) – The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has revealed the Class of 2026, featuring nine inductees who will be celebrated during the Enshrinement festivities on August 14-15. The announcement took place in Indianapolis, host city of the 2026 NCAA Men’s Final Four, and was broadcast live on ESPN2.

Doc Rivers, who coached the Celtics to an NBA title, among Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2026
Rivers, who led the Celtics to the NBA championship in 2008, is among the those who will be enshrined into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Rivers has 1,192 victories on his résumé, which puts him sixth on the all-time list. In nine seasons with the Celtics from 2004-13, he finished 416-305 in the regular season and 59-47 in the playoffs.
“That group and that championship and doing it with the Boston Celtics, who hadn’t done it in 17 years at that point, crystallized my career for sure,†said Rivers.
A 13-year NBA player, Rivers coached the Magic before the Celtics, and the Clippers, 76ers, and Bucks since.
