Neymar left out of Brazil squad for March, Endrick makes cut
Neymar's hopes of playing at the World Cup are fading with the Santos forward once again left out of Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti's squad for the upcoming friendlies in the United States.
Brazil's matches against France and Croatia on March 26 in Boston and March 31 in Orlando, respectively, will be the last encounters before Ancelotti names his final World Cup roster on May 18.
Neymar, Brazil's all-time leading scorer with 79 goals, has not played for the national team since October 2023, when he tore the ACL and meniscus in his left knee. The former Barcelona star reiterated on Sunday his desire to compete for Brazil at the World Cup after playing 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw with Corinthians, a game which had two of Ancelotti's assistants in attendance.
Official: Vinicius, Endrick named in Brazil squad for upcoming friendlies
With the FIFA World Cup in North America only a few months away, the first international break of 2026 arrives in a week, as teams look to fine-tune their plans and preparations for the summer extravaganza.
Brazil, led by former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, will be involved in two friendlies against France and Croatia, with the games scheduled to be played on 26 March and 31 March, respectively in the United States of America.
And, Ancelotti has now announced the squad list of players he will be taking to the US for the two pre-World Cup friendlies.
As expected, Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. has been called up by the Italian legend, with the 25-year-old forward being a central figure in his plans for the Selecao.

Brentford striker Igor Thiago has received his first senior Brazil call-up, but there is no place in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for Santos forward Neymar.
Thiago, 24, is the Premier League’s second top-scorer this season with 18 goals in 29 appearances, and is one of four first-time selections in the 26-player squad for March’s friendlies — Brazil’s final camp before the 2026 World Cup — alongside Bournemouth striker Rayan, 19, Flamengo defender Leo Pereira, 30 and Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara, 26.
Real Madrid forward Endrick, who joined Lyon on loan in January, also returns to the squad, marking his first call up since Ancelotti’s appointment as head coach last summer. However, there is no place for midfielder Lucas Paqueta, who moved to Flamengo from West Ham United in January.
