ST. PAUL, Minn. — The No. 3 Warroad Warriors (25-5-1) defeated the No. 1 Hibbing-Chisholm Bluejackets (26-3-2) 5-4 in overtime the MSHSL boys hockey state tournament Class 1A championship on Saturday at Grand Casino Arena.
The win gives Warroad its first state title since 2005 and fifth in school history.

Boys State Hockey: Warroad rallies to beat Delano to advance to Class A championship game
For the first time during the 2026 Boys State Hockey Tournament, we saw a lower seed win. 3-seed Warroad beat 2-seed Delano on Friday afternoon, 6-3.
That sets up a Warroad vs. Hibbing/Chisholm Class A championship game on Saturday afternoon at Grand Casino Arena. It’s also a rematch of the 1994 title game — Hibbing wasn’t a co-op then. That’s the last time Hibbing played for a state title. Warroad won that game. Will they do it again to the Bluejackets?
