19 First Alert Weather Day Friday: Turning windy after early round of rain

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A cold front will be tracking through the area tomorrow.

This front will bring strong winds and a significant drop in temperatures by the afternoon.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for a handful of counties from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Occasional gusts up to 50 mph are possible out of the southwest, which is the threshold for a few power outages and difficult travel for high profile vehicles.

Meanwhile, high temperatures reach the mid and upper 50s for most locations this afternoon.

However, a lake breeze has developed, keeping the lakeshore in the low and mid 40s.

Wind Advisory issued for multiple Northeast Ohio counties: See if you are impacted

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for multiple counties in Northeast Ohio, beginning Friday at 7 a.m.

The Wind Advisory will be in effect for the following counties until Friday at 7 p.m.

According to the NWS, the impacted areas will have west-southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," the NWS noted.

According to 3News' weather team, Friday will feature a dramatic temp drop with a return to snowy, colder weather.

"We'll start just fine with some morning sunshine and temps in the 50s. Then the clouds will arrive with a temp drop the rest of the day Friday. The winds will pick up, too, with gusts over 40 mph possible Friday midday through Friday evening. We'll also develop some rain and snow that will change over to all snow Friday afternoon and evening. It will be quite the change after a mild week."
