Brush Fire Breaks Out; Evacuations Ordered In Laguna Beach
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A brush fire broke out Monday afternoon in Laguna Beach amid hot and windy weather, triggering emergency response and evacuations.
The fire was reported at 2:36 p.m. Monday and prompted authorities to issue mandatory evacuations for the following areas: La Mirada Street, Katella Street and Summit Drive.
According to Laguna Beach firefighters, as of 2:47 p.m., the fire was burning near Rancho Laguna Road and Morningside Drive and is marching uphill.
At 2:47 p.m., authorities issued evacuation orders for the area of Baja Street. Arch Beach Heights was placed in a "Warning Area" at the same time, authorities said.
