Texans WR Confident Team Will Soon Get Over the Hump

The Houston Texans came up short of their Super Bowl hopes once again this season, as they'll be forced to sit on the couch at home to watch the New England Patriots— the team that bested them in the AFC Divisional Round— take on the Seattle Seahawks in Santa Clara with the other 29 teams out of the hunt.

However, that's not to say that inside the Texans' facility, the team and its players aren't confident about what Houston could put together in the near future.

In fact, one Texans wideout, Xavier Hutchinson, is assured that the Texans will get over that playoff hump sooner rather than later. But before then, they, just like any other team, have to iron out some wrinkles before that feat becomes a reality.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud Gets Strong Words Amid Looming Situation

Nick Caserio and the Houston Texans’ front office have plenty to sort through this offseason. And while tight end Dalton Schultz is not among them, quarterback C.J. Stroud is, and he looms large over the Texans heading into the offseason.

Stroud is extension-eligible, but he is coming off a rough two-game stint in the playoffs.

Schultz, who must be mindful of his own career trajectory in a league known for short tenures, spoke candidly about his surprisingly polarizing QB.

Schultz led the Texans in receptions, operating as Stroud’s second-most-sought-after target behind wide receiver Nico Collins. His presence was particularly noticeable after he exited the Texans’ loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Playoffs.

Houston Texans' Offensive Weapon Takes Full Blame For C.J. Stroud's Postseason Implosion

The Houston Texans are entering what could be a very long offseason after losing in the Divisional round of the postseason for the third year in a row. It was not a pretty performance as Houston fell to the New England Patriots on the road in horrific weather, and the performance will haunt the offensive side of the ball until the 2026 season rolls around.

The final score was 28-16 in favor of the Patriots, but the Texans would have had a good chance to win had the offense protected the football. Quarterback C.J. Stroud threw four interceptions in the contest while completing less than 50 percent of his passes in what was the worst performance of his professional career.
