Prashad: Oba Femi continues to be a name I come back to. There’s an aura about when he’s in the ring that demands attention. It never tracked that he could have won this year's Rumble — especially with a rising star like Jacob Fatu on track to wrestle for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania — so his run was the next best thing.
Oba Femi Reportedly Among WWE NXT Call-Ups Singled Out For Praise After Royal Rumble
WWE main roster free agent, and former NXT Champion, Oba Femi reportedly made a big impression with his performance at the Royal Rumble last weekend. According to PWInsider Elite, Femi received praise for his work during a WWE town hall meeting on Thursday in Stamford, Connecticut.
PWIE reported that an all-hands-on-deck meeting was held at WWE Headquarters, which was attended by WWE President Nick Khan. The meeting was hosted by Paul "Triple H" Levesque and TKO President Mark Shapiro. According to PWIE, Femi, Je'Von Evans, and former Women's North American Champion Sol Ruca were all praised for their work in their respective Royal Rumble matches. The event overall was praised by WWE executives.

The 2026 Royal Rumble has come and gone, and the road to WrestleMania has begun in earnest.
This year’s show did not disappoint. Although the arena looked half empty, the action was fast and furious and the enthusiasm of the fans in attendance was infectious.
Although many consider doing business with the Saudi regime morally questionable, it’s wonderful to see thousands of Saudis share our love of wrestling.
The show was light on surprises, but it’s always fascinating to see which wrestlers are featured on such a major show and in what way.
This tells us a lot about what creative sees in various performers and who we can expect to have a bigger role in 2026.
