Rams hiring former Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury
As Sean McVay assembles his coaching staff for 2026, there will be at least one new face on the sidelines. According to reports, the Los Angeles Rams are hiring Kliff Kingsbury to join their staff this season.
His role appears to be undisclosed at the moment, but he will be a member of the Rams’ coaching staff in some capacity this coming year.
McVay and Kingsbury are good friends and had talked about working on the same staff years ago before he even became the Cardinals’ head coach. McVay tried to hire Kingsbury as an offensive assistant for the stretch run during the Rams’ 2018 Super Bowl run but it never came to fruition.
Kliff Kingsbury Lands NFL Coaching Gig
Former NFL head coach and Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury is reportedly joining the Los Angeles Rams coaching staff, according to ESPN's Peter Schrager, a longtime friend and former podcast co-host of Rams head coach Sean McVay, and Adam Schefter.
"Former Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury is joining the coaching staff of the Los Angeles Rams, per @PSchrags and me," Schefter wrote on his X account.
Kingsbury, 46, and the Commanders mutually parted ways last month after two seasons with the franchise, having garnered praise for leading one of the NFL's top offenses during Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels' rookie season in 2024. Washington was, however, hindered in 2025 with Daniels suffering multiple injuries limiting him to just seven appearances.

There’s no better place to do that than in LA.”
