CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Several school districts in the Charlotte region and beyond were adjusting their Tuesday schedules following a historic snowstorm that dropped several inches of snow across the region.
Dangerously cold temperatures were in the forecast for the first few days this week following a heavy snowfall across the Carolinas. Some school districts were canceling classes or shifting to virtual learning for Tuesday, Feb. 3 due to the weather.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Numerous school districts across the Carolinas, including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 3, due to wintry weather conditions and impacts from this weekend's snowstorm.
The closure includes all school activities and programs, including Before-School and After-School Enrichment Programs.
CMS said they will not use a designated make-up instructional day from the 2025-26 academic calendar because Superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill has waived the requirement for this instructional day.
"The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families remain our top priority," CMS said in an email sent to families. "We will continue monitoring National Weather Service updates and keep families informed of any district or school schedule changes."
