It is time for NY to part ways with Mitchell Robinson
Having Mitchell Robinson available only twice a week and the occasional Tuesday continues to undermine the Knicks. It is time for him to go. There, I said it. Load up your bows.
At times, Mitch has been my favorite Knick. He is one of the best rebounders to ever do it, a fun personality, and the longest-tenured ‘Bocker, too. That gives him a lot of rope. But load-management prevents the seven-foot center from playing back-to-backs, making for an erratic availability that must be disruptive to game planning. We have no confidence that he will survive through the playoffs, either. And this season’s numbers don’t justify the special treatment.
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson Speaks Out After 'Breakdown'
New York Knicks center/ forward Mitchell Robinson made a heartfelt Facebook post on where he disclosed that he had suffered what he called a "mental breakdown" and a "realization check" that he "really needed" shortly before.
Robinson wrote that he appreciated the fans and those close to him who supported him, explaining that from conversations with people, he was "think and get confidence" in himself.
"Thank you everyone for checking on me! I feel a million times better I just had a mental breakdown /realization check which I really needed. After talking to most of you. really made me think and gain confidence in myself so I say that to say this no matter what life throws at you remember who you really are without you being a big hearted person the ones that turned on you wouldn't be able to do what they doing right now if it wasn't for you and that's a fact. Be proud of yourself cause not everybody in this world wanna see you win in life show em."

I’m told that is just kind of Mitch being Mitch and is …
Chris Mannix: They are, frankly, not looking to do deals involving any of their core guys. And that includes, from what I’m told, Mitchell Robinson, who had some very interesting social media posts as of late. I’m told that is just kind of Mitch being Mitch and is not an indication that a trade involving him is imminent. My sense is that the Knicks are going to try to ride this out with this group for the rest of the season and hope that their chemistry and continuity—and the fact that they were a conference finalist last year—helps power them in the postseason.
