The Houston Texans are gearing up for arguably their most important game in franchise history. Especially with a few key players eligible for extensions this offseason.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport gave a contract update on two of Houston’s most important young players before Sunday’s playoff game.

CJ Stroud’s contract details: This is the Texans QB’s salary and years left in Houston

The third-year quarterback is trying to prove to fans and foes he’s worth every penny of the money the Texans invested in him.

The former Ohio State quarterback, CJ Stroud, signed his groundbreaking contract in 2023. Valued at an impressive $36.3 million for four years, the contract included an unprecedented bonus of $23.38 million. By the end of the contract in 2026, Stroud will have earned more than $36 million, with an average annual salary exceeding $9 million.

What sets this contract apart from typical rookie contracts is that the entire bonus was paid immediately instead of being spread out over time.
