Falcons complete interview with Matt Ryan for President of Football
The Atlanta Falcons completed an interview with Matt Ryan for their new president of football role, the team announced on Friday evening. Ryan, a former league MVP, spent 14 out of his 15 NFL seasons as the quarterback for the Falcons, leading the team to a Super Bowl appearance in 2016.
The Falcons created this president of football role to work closely with the next head coach and general manager to put the best product on the field. It's solely a football position, and Ryan has widely been considered the favorite throughout the process, but the team is doing its due diligence.
"Our new head coach and general manager will report to the new president of football, and they will work collaboratively as a football leadership team on all football decisions. Final decision-making authority will rest with the president of football," Blank explained of this new role.
