Canucks at Bruins preview: Boston looks to turn the tide against new-look Vancouver
What can the Bruins learn from a defeat on home ice?
After a 3-1 loss in which Oilers star center Connor McDavid’s shorthanded breakaway goal in the third period provided key insurance, the Bruins will look to get back on track when they begin a weekend back-to-back home set with a game against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.
“Little mistakes, little moments could cost you a goal, or even a game. In the playoffs, it could cost you a series,†Bruins coach Marco Sturm said after facing the star duo of McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. “I like playing teams like that because they make you better. … For me, it’s a great teaching game. Really good. Cost us maybe two points, but overall, I do believe those kinds of games will help.â€

The Boston Bruins will be making some lineup changes on Saturday.
Boston is set to host the Vancouver Canucks at 7 p.m. ET, and Alex Steeves will be a scratch, while Jeffrey Viel will return to the lineup. Following morning skate on Saturday, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm explained the decision to change the forward lines, which included Marat Khusnutdinov being on the top line.
“Obviously, Steeves is out of the lineup, so we had to make a little bit of an adjustment,” Sturm said on Saturday.
“We just went back with Kuzy on the first line just to give them a little bit more jump. Make those other lines more even.”
